Bathroom Renovation

Pat was unexpectedly available when I was away and completed the first week of a complete rip out of a family bathroom and separate toilet (serious waterproofing issues left by the last builder) with no-one much around. I came home to two clean newly floored, newly walled (with acoustic insulation) fully prepped and fully waterproofed spaces ready for tiling and fittings...most of which had been negotiated over text, email and face time while I was away. Don't be afraid to negotiate a job at an hourly rate with Pat. His estimates of final price will be pretty spot on and his work rate means that what he achieves in an hour will take someone less driven than himself two. He has high expectations of not only himself but all the other people that he will bring onto your job. The tiler, plumbers and electricians he used on my job were first class. They worked hard and efficiently. They arrived when they said they would and cleaned up behind themselves. He runs a tight ship and I have already recommended him to two friends and will only use his services in the future for my home and other property.

Windows Replacement

I am very pleased with my new windows. It was very difficult to find someone who was willing to replace my rotting timber windows. Patrick was the first person who was interested in tackling the job. He replaced the two large cathedral windows without any fuss. His encouragement to have them double glazed is a winner. I still have more work that I will be asking Patrick to investigate

Relocated kitchen and remodelling of our Victorian timber cottage

We have known Patrick for 7 years and have engaged his services on several occasions following a professional recommendation. The scope of works completed for us by Emerald Carpentry began with a relocated kitchen which involved considerable remodelling of our Victorian timber cottage to maximise the space available. Patrick made several recommendations which were taken up by us during this project.

At the same time Emerald Carpentry added a small timber decking area to the rear elevation of our property and fitted new timber fencing to one side of our garden area. More recently we engaged Emerald Carpentry to strip out and re-construct the bathroom to our own design. As a designer I am particular about detail and this is where Emerald Carpentry was exceptional. All trades persons supplied by Emerald Carpentry were of a high professional standard and under the watchful eye of Patrick our bathroom was completed in around seven days. Repairs and improvements to investment property

Patrick Hogan is a dedicated, hard-working and highly skilled carpenter, who has competently made many repairs to our family home. He adopted the role of Project Manager when my husband and I decided to prepare our investment property for sale. Patrick accurately identified the repairs and improvements that were required to sell the property.

He swiftly engaged an electrician, a plumber, a plasterer, a paver, and two separate painters to complete the task. While supervising these tradesmen, Patrick and his assistant capably attended to the carpentry jobs.

Patrick's communication skills enabled him to discuss the process and timeline with us in an informative and clear manner. Each day, he was punctual and he worked efficiently. Patrick was very generous with his time, and he often worked long days in order to meet our completion deadline.

Repair of a large supporting beam that had rotted away

I found Emerald carpentry by fluke on the internet via his website. Liking what I saw on the website, I sent off a request for a quotation to repair a large supporting beam that had rotted away. I did not expect to get such a quick response as I figured the work might have been too small a job. The next morning Patrick called and came over same day. After a consultation, we agreed and he was able to start for me the following day.

At all times his communication was exemplary. He was efficient and he quoted accurately. His workmanship and work ethic leave many others way behind. Following the job, I asked him to quote for the replacement of a front verandah post and new timber flooring.

I agreed and the work was carried out a week or so later after he once again followed up several times, always keeping the communication lines open.

He involved me every step of the way regarding decisions and or offering advice. Again his solid work ethics & professionalism shone through.

I am extremely happy with the results and can wholeheartedly recommend Patrick to anyone. I wish there were more trades people out there with the same high standards. A true craftsman.
